The mission of the Virtual Reality Lab is to understand the human behavior in a complex computer-generated environment. We pursue this goal by creating virtual yet plausible scenarios in which individuals can act relatively unrestrictedly and in real time, so they can experience a deep feeling of immersion and realism. By the use of the most up-to-date computer graphics and Virtual Reality systems, we want to reach new insights on human mind and specifically body-environment interaction by building virtual scenarios with embedded virtual humans, animals and objects. By em-bodying several phenomena, this equipment let us to investigate basic Cognitive Science issues from an Embodied Cognition perspective. Moreover, the simulative power of Virtual Reality is able to provide solutions to applied research questions useful for the overall social community.
